...but then, can one really expect good muzak in McDonald's?
I mean, really - if you actually sang this to a woman you really loved, would you she have any respect left for you... really?

Steve and I keep meaning to make a list of worst songs ever. Thanks for getting this started!

o.k., I don't even have to listen to that to agree.
As for other nominees I have two by Jefferson whatever(don't remember if it was Airplane or Starship - though leaning toward Starship): "We Built this City," and even worse, "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now." Oh and their "Sarah" is pretty atrocious too.

I think "We Built This City" is actually on the "worst ever" official list; I'd certainly agree it belongs there. I have a soft spot for "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" - but I'm a sucker for those eighties power ballads. "Sara" is atrocious.

soft spot for "Nothing's gonna...?" Splain, please.

I love We Built this City! By Starship, thank you very much.
I personally loathe Mony Mony, among countless others, like, Rock On, for instance.

which begs the question: how do we define what is a "worst song." What makes it more than just one "I don't like." Are there criteria?

Leigh,
I'll give you "Rock On," if you will let me include "Maneater."

I LOVE THIS DEBATE!! I really don't mind "We Built This City" all that much, and I won't lie, I enjoy "Maneater." My list of worst songs ever could go on for days, but here's a few to consider ...
"Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" (Wham)
"Mambo #5" (Lou Bega)
"Rico Suave" (Gerardo)
"Muskrat Love" (The Captain & Tennille)
"Abracadabra" (Steve Miller)
