Morning Morsels: The Four Questions

1. Why does anyone think Laura Bush is so terribly nice? Watching her on Meet The Press - and realizing that, b) she hates the press - I was struck by how the surface sense of her barely-more-than-one-word answers seemed nice, but their undercurrent was surprisingly bitter (none more so than her icy "thank you" to "some of the press" for giving Barbara and Jenna cover to "make some mistakes"). Why do I never lose the nagging feeling that she puts the steel in Steel Magnolia?
2. How do you accidentally shoot yourself in the leg? And what do you do for two hours, when you should be in the hospital?
3. Why is the McLaughlin Group spending the entire show discussing Alaska? Are we really that short on actual news?
4. Why would the next 4 years - or less - be different from all the others? Or in other words, who thinks Bill Clinton will be remotely reigned in by some set of rules set by the Obama Administration? Has that ever stopped him?
